ROSE TOWERS - SSH

As Associate Director, I was responsible for the compilation of the concept phase consultant team coordinated design documentation package.

This was a wonderful project to be involved with, working with our client team in Slemani, Kurdistan. Slemani is located in a high seismic zone area which entailed a highly robust engineered structure which needed a high level of understanding and co-ordination.

HAYES PARK OFFICE - SOM

It was an honour to work on this project. In 1965 Gordon Bunshaft, one of the doyens of corporate modernism and a leading light at SOM, designed a research facility and office building for the Heinz family. Set in a parked landscape, the story goes he even hand-picked the cows. SOM were appointed to upgrade the office building, convert the research building and build a new three-story office adjacent. I was the project architect.

SHERATON TOWERS - KEN YEANG

As a young architect I gained valuable experience working on this large scale development comprising 16 floors of hotel, mid-level plant, 10 floors of office space and mixed-use podium of five floors including ball rooms, conference rooms, retail and a large roof top swimming pool and entertainment area. I supported the Project Architect in the role of job captain, overseeing the team production and carrying out coordination and detail design.

DAINFERN SQUARE - DHK

My first real experience of retail development proved to be a great learning experience. Dainfern is classified as a neighbourhood shopping centre and this beautifully designed complex set around a square has different types of retail spaces for the shopper to experience. Indoor and outdoor space and no entrance doors made it distinctive. Each type of retail space required careful consideration and detailing.

SINGITA CASTLETON - GAPP

This was an unforgettable project to be involved with. Working in the middle of the bush required a great deal of forward planning. Bush detailing, services infrastructure and health and safety also needed consideration while wild animals circled the camp. The design process was fluid with a small gym and tennis pavilion being realised during the construction process.

ARTSCAPE - GAPP

This project had it all. Appropriate design, a high level of detailing and strong management requirements. Over 5-6 years, Artscape carried out enhancements to its large and diverse complex. The first phase was increasing the main auditorium seating and successful further phases followed. Office space was consolidated in two new roof extensions. New rehearsal rooms were “floated” on the roof of the back and side stages of the theatre auditorium. Dressing room wings were upgraded and re-invigorated. A light and airy visitors/staff canteen were included with many of the other additions. As project architect, I successfully managed the project to an extremely tight schedule.
